We all have a significant impact on our environment in so many ways and all the choices we make on a daily basis will have some effect on it - whether we drive or walk to the shops, or buy free range eggs, whether we switch off our electrical appliances at night... and so on.

There are so many ways in which we can help to reduce our carbon footprint and we are constantly striving to increase the amount of waste that we recycle. The following list shows the main areas that we have successfully addressed.

In our endeavour to reduce our carbon footprint we discovered some interesting facts.

You can power a 60 watt light bulb for 3 hours by recycling one plastic bottle..
It can take up to 500 years for plastic waste in landfills to decompose.
The total annual waste contained in an average waste bin contains enough energy to power a television set for 5,000 hours.
The volume of waste produced from Britain’s waste could fill its largest lake every eight months
Consumer packaging adds about 15% to the cost of your product and this normally ends up in landfill
It is possible to compost up to eighty percent of household waste.
Up to eighty percent of the average vehicle can be recycled and made into something else.
Surveys show that 90% of people would recycle more if there were better facilities
